FJ5 Sublime1970 Challenger RT (clone)
Originally this car was a 318 V8 with the 904 automatic gearbox. That package was upgraded back in 1990 to a big block
Fender tag and broadcast sheet still intact.
Original FJ5 Sublime Challenger built in Los Angeles w/ black interior
Repainted back in 98 and their isn’t a blister or crack anywhere. Body has absolutely no rust, no bubbles or surface rust anywhere. Trunk floor is still green
The car was inpsected with a magnet & paint gauge over every inch of this car to confirm no filler or body filler exists.
Vinyl top is fresh with no tears or stretch marks
Glass is original including the windshield and is very presentable for a car that is 47 years old
Black interior, console factory floor shift
Original cruise control, hood pin and AC car
15” rally wheels w/ BFG radial TA’s (rears about 50% worn)
440 HP 1970 block with forged internals, 6 pack rods and 11:1 pump gas pistons – All ARP hardware internally
Internally balanced short block w/ blue printed HV oil pump
Double roller timing chain with Comp 535 solid cam
Bruce Toth Ported 906 heads with titanium valves, retainers and locks (guides were replaced)
Aluminum Holley Dominator single plane intake
Demon 850 polished carb w/ anodized fuel line fittings
Holley mechanical fuel pump
Hooker Super Comp headers
Power Steering
Full 2 1/2 “ TTI exhaust out the back with factory stainless tips – Also has optional cut outs if you want to run straight headers (has plug to remove on each side)
Rebuilt 1970 E-body 727 transmission with upgraded drum, bands and Kevlar clutches
2800 stall converter
E-body 8 ¾ rear: 491 case 3:91 ratio rear that’s freshly resealed
Super Stock Mopar leaf springs
New shocks front and rear (Monroe’s)
Front end is tight with new Ball joints, control arm bushings and pitman arm.
Stainless is in great shape and the bumpers are rechromed but about 18 years old. They look great for a driver quality car.
Grille and headlight buckets are flawless originals in addition to the marker lights and door handles.
All lights work and car drives down the highway nice. 65 mph around 3,000 rpm
Seats are not ripped or torn
Carpet is in good shape.
Dash pad cover is in great shape.
Original Seat belts
Dash lights work great but gauges could use a rebuild – Speedo is not functioning currently but odometer works
Some of the extras are; tach on the column in addition to an electronic fuel pressure gauge.
Old school cassette deck radio with speakers on the rear package tray and kick panels
Head liner isn’t ripped but it is drooping in certain places
Drivers side mirror has some pitting in the chrome – It’s original
Manual drum brakes stop the car really well.
